He is a trained professional—but nothing can prepare him for the hottest mission of his life. Assigned to protect his boss’s daughter, British former SAS operative Malone Garrett breaks the first rule of covert surveillance—don’t make contact. And especially don’t take your mark out to dinner, then agree to a rooftop quickie. But now that Mal has Abby in his arms, he has no intention of ever letting her go.
Abby Baston told herself it was a hit and quit, a one-nighter with a hot, handsome stranger whose hands were trained to take action. Working undercover for the CIA, she can’t risk anything more. But when an international crisis ignites, Abby must make a call: trust Mal with her secret—and her heart— and partner up, or lose everything in a split second . . .
Malone Garrett a former British SAS operative is on a new assignment, watching his boss’s daughter Abby Baston. How did he end up on the most boring job ever! She does nothing, sleeps, works, eats, sleeps that is the gist of it until one day he saw a different side of her. A side that did not match her mundane life style. Intrigued Malone got a little closer. He made contact, what harm? Step on the brakes Malone, contact did not mean sleeping with the boss’s daughter the biggest “NO” ever. What he did not expect it was an act, her mundane lifestyle. Abby was full of secrets herself. Now Malone can’t get Abby out of his head and has no intention of letting her go not to mention he can’t any way, her mission has turned into an international crisis, exactly what he is trained for.
Abby Baston scratched an itch with Malone, not that she does this all the time, Hey he’s hot with great hands. Problem bad timing and not knowing Malone was watching her when three slugs followed her into an alley. Now they are stuck with each other and Abby has to trust him and bring him into her mission.
Story was fun and action packed. Loved the plot concept and the relationship between Malone and Garrett, especially watching the trust grow between them. The suspense of the situations was there and very apparent but I did not necessarily feel that emotion in the writing. I was told it but did not feel it. It was a good story and will pick up another Curtis book.
