Book Review: Waterfall (Dragon’s Fate) by Lacy Danes

Book Description

It’s easy to fall in love. Destiny requires tooth and claw.

Dragon’s Fate, Book 1

Curses are designed to be cruel, but the one afflicting Jordan and his brothers is almost beyond bearing. A dragon born by blood magic, he is an immortal trapped in human form, with only one hope of finding his eternal mate. He must bite her—and pray she lives.

One dark night, he senses the wounded heartbeat of a woman in the shadows, begging him to end her life. Ever the gentleman, he chivalrously obliges her wish. Only to discover three days later that she lives. And has married another.

Celeste always dreamed of marrying for love, but the nightmare of living in her father’s home drives her to wed the Duke of Hudson. Yet on her wedding eve, she is compelled to follow a mysterious man who professes to know her secret. A man with curious blue scales on his muscular arms—whose shadowed eyes reflect a dangerous mix of destiny and desire…

Warning: This novel contains explicit sex, sex in water, four super-hot dragon brothers, and a curse born from magical power that has left them wondering who they are all their lives.

Book Review

Jordan, an extremely handsome gentleman, who is part blood drinker, part dragon, finds Celeste near death.  In an attempt to put her out of her misery, he does what he rarely allows himself to do, he bites her.  Thinking he has ended her life, he leaves her in peace only to find out that she survived and that he’s drawn to her.  Celeste doesn’t remember anything from the night she almost died, and goes on to marry the Duke of Hudson.  You can imagine her surprise when she again meets Jordan and she feels an instant attraction.  As the two struggle to figure out what their future holds, they must fight the obstacles that stand in their way.

Waterfall was a quick enjoyable read.  You get a nice touch of romance, wrapped in the paranormal and set in olden day London.   Seems like a strange mix, but oddly it works.  Although, it was just another vampire story with an odd little twist.  But is that so bad? Vampire stories work for a reason, don’t’ they? Well, I’m hoping that twist pays off in the future books in this series. So, I will definitely be reading book two and you should be able to see my review here sometime next week.   Lastly, I just recently found out that it’s on sale for 99 cents. At that price, I would definitely suggest picking it up. It is more than worth it.
